Correct Installation Direction

Fit the pipe with the male or smaller-diameter end pointing downwards towards the appliance. The female end should face upwards towards the chimney.

This direction keeps condensates and combustion deposits inside the flue system. As a result, they can travel back towards the appliance instead of leaking onto the outside of a joint.
