How Does the MagnaClean Professional2 Work?

Most wet central heating systems produce corrosion over time. This process creates black iron oxide sludge, which then moves around the pipework with the heating water.

The MagnaClean Professional2 uses a strong magnet to attract this iron oxide. It also captures other circulating debris inside the canister. As a result, less dirt reaches the boiler, pump and radiator valves.

The installer can remove and clean the trapped debris during a heating-system service. Regular cleaning helps the filter continue to protect the system.

Why Does a Heating System Need a Magnetic Filter?

Heating sludge can restrict pipes and reduce the flow through radiators. It may also cause cold spots, extra noise and poor heating performance. Furthermore, harmful debris can damage the boiler’s heat exchanger and other system parts.

A magnetic filter helps by collecting this debris before it builds up around key components. However, a filter cannot repair existing faults. Your heating engineer should clean and treat a heavily contaminated system before relying on the filter for ongoing protection.

Flexible Installation

The 360-degree valves give installers several fitting options. In addition, the two-way flow design allows either valve to act as the inlet. These features make it easier to fit the filter where pipework or space creates a challenge.

For the best boiler protection, ADEY recommends fitting the filter on the return pipe after the final radiator and before the boiler. The installer must also leave enough space above and below the filter for cleaning and servicing.

Quick and Easy Servicing

The secure quick-release connection allows an engineer to remove the canister without changing the main pipework. The removable magnet sheath also helps the engineer clean away trapped sludge quickly.

A low-level drain valve makes emptying the canister easier. Furthermore, the engineer can use the canister to add a suitable central heating cleaner or inhibitor.

Arrange a filter check during the annual boiler or heating-system service. The engineer should clean the magnet, inspect the seals and add fresh inhibitor when required.

• Fit the filter vertically and in line with the heating pipework
• For best protection, fit it on the return before the boiler
• Allow at least 50mm above the air vent
• Allow at least 50mm below the drain plug
