Reliable Carbon Monoxide Protection
The Kidde 2030-DCR uses an electrochemical sensor to monitor the surrounding air for carbon monoxide. If the alarm detects a dangerous CO level, its 85dB sounder warns people in the property.
In addition, the green, amber and red LEDs show the alarm’s current status. This makes it easier to identify normal operation, faults and alarm conditions.
10-Year Electrochemical Sensor
The built-in sensor provides up to 10 years of carbon monoxide detection. Furthermore, an end-of-life warning tells you when you need to replace the complete alarm.
Please note: The 10-year figure applies to the sensor life. The manufacturer provides a three-year warranty, and you will need to replace the AA batteries during the life of the alarm.
Replaceable AA Batteries
Two AA alkaline batteries power the Kidde 2030-DCR, and Kidde includes them with the alarm. As a result, the unit does not need a mains electrical connection.
An audible warning tells you when the batteries need replacing. Always use the battery type listed in the user guide and test the alarm after fitting new batteries.
Wall-Mounted or Freestanding
You can mount the alarm on a suitable wall or use it as a freestanding unit. Therefore, it works well in permanent home installations and can also provide practical protection while travelling.
Always follow the positioning instructions in the user guide. Do not place the alarm where furniture, curtains or other objects may block it.

Carbon Monoxide Alarms in Rented Properties
Landlords must follow the alarm rules that apply in the country where the property sits. In England, rented homes generally require a CO alarm in any room used as living accommodation that contains a fixed combustion appliance, except a gas cooker.
In Wales, landlords must provide a working carbon monoxide alarm in each room containing a gas, oil or solid-fuel-burning appliance, subject to the detailed requirements of the Welsh regulations.
However, buying a compliant alarm does not guarantee legal compliance on its own. You must also install, position, test and maintain it correctly.
Installation and Testing
Install the alarm according to the Kidde user guide and any rules that apply to your property. Ideally, fit a suitable alarm in every room containing a fuel-burning appliance. You may also need extra alarms near sleeping areas or in rooms where people spend a lot of time.
Test the alarm regularly with the test button. In addition, test it after replacing the batteries and after returning from a long absence.
Never test a carbon monoxide alarm with vehicle exhaust, smoke or another combustion source. Use only the test procedure stated in the Kidde instructions.

Important Safety Information
This product detects carbon monoxide only. It does not detect smoke, fire or other gases and does not replace the smoke alarms required in your property.
A carbon monoxide alarm also does not replace correct appliance installation, ventilation, flue maintenance or regular servicing by a qualified engineer.
If the alarm sounds, follow the emergency instructions in the user guide. Move into fresh air, contact the appropriate emergency service and do not use the suspected appliance until a qualified engineer confirms that it is safe.
