Create a neat seal around a suitable roof penetration with the MI-FLUES MI-Flash No. 6 EPDM Roof Flashing. It fits pipes with an external diameter from 127mm to 230mm. Therefore, it suits a wide range of larger flue pipes, ventilation pipes and other compatible roof services.

The flexible black EPDM material provides strong resistance to outdoor weather, ozone and ultraviolet light. In addition, you can shape the flashing base to follow the profile of a suitable roof.

This No. 6 flashing has a 304mm x 304mm base and suits roof pitches from 0° to 18°. Its maximum service temperature is 100°C. As a result, you must check the expected external pipe temperature before installation.

Suitable Applications

The MI-Flash No. 6 helps form a weather-resistant seal where a compatible pipe passes through a suitable roof. For example, you can use it as part of a correctly designed flue, chimney, ventilation or service-pipe installation.

However, this roof flashing does not replace any firestop, support or clearance required by the pipe or chimney manufacturer. Always follow the instructions for the complete system.

Check the Pipe Diameter Before Ordering

Measure the external diameter of the pipe before choosing the flashing. Do not use the internal flue diameter because insulated pipes can have a much larger outside measurement.

This No. 6 flashing fits external pipe diameters from 127mm to 230mm. The opening should form a close seal around the pipe without excessive stretching.

How to Install the MI-Flash No. 6

1. First, check that the external pipe diameter measures between 127mm and 230mm.
2. Select the marked opening that best matches the pipe size.
3. Carefully trim the EPDM cone with a suitable knife or scissors.
4. Slide the flashing over the pipe. If required, apply a suitable lubricant to help it move into place.
5. Press and shape the base so it follows the roof profile.
6. Apply the correct sealant beneath the base as directed by the fixing-kit instructions.
7. Secure the base with suitable screws and weatherproof fixing caps.
8. Finally, check the full edge to make sure the base forms a complete seal against the roof.

Take care when using cutting tools and working at height. A suitably competent installer should complete the work when the flashing forms part of a chimney or flue installation.
