General Application: Theses items are to used in conjunction with MI-FLEX Multi fuel flexible flue liner. Building Regulations Document J requires that a flexible flue liner can only be installed completely enclosed inside a masonry chimney. A non masonry enclosure such as timber or plasterboard boxing in is not acceptable. All items are suitable for use on appliances up to 600°C (T600 designation). Suitable for use on Wood

 

Bottom Fixings: Bottom fixings are used to make the transitional change from the connecting flue system to the Flexible flue liner. The connection to the flex should be made inside the confines of the existing masonry chimney and no flex should be on show at any time. Provisions must me made to secure the bottom fixing into the connecting flue below and the flexible above to make a gas tight seal, The use of fire cement, ceramic rope or tape or high temperature sealant its advisable.

 

Specific Application: The Top Hat Adaptor 316 stainless steel is installed at the base of the chimney on the under side of the register plate. It has a rebated connection on the underside of the plate to allow the connecting flue to slide up 100mm allowing easy integration of the stove / disconnection of the stove. The adaptor to MI-FLEX sits above the plate where the transition to flex should be made. The adaptor has a square cover plate built in to cover the hole made in the register plate.
