Vitcas HRG withstands temperatures up to 1000°C. Therefore, it provides a suitable finishing grout for tiles installed with Vitcas Heat Resistant Tile Adhesive.

Use Vitcas HRG to fill joints between suitable tiles in areas exposed to high temperatures. Typical applications include:

Before starting, make sure the tiles, adhesive and background surface suit the expected operating temperature.

Before Grouting

Do not grout tiles immediately after fixing them. First, allow the tile adhesive to set and cure fully. Vitcas recommends leaving newly fixed tiles for several days before applying the grout.

In addition, follow the curing instructions supplied with the tile adhesive. Applying grout too soon may trap moisture or disturb the tiles before the adhesive develops a secure bond.

How to Mix Vitcas HRG

1. Make sure the tile joints are clean, dry and free from dust.
2. Place the required amount of grout powder into a clean mixing container.
3. Add clean water gradually.
4. Mix thoroughly until the grout reaches a smooth, workable trowelling consistency.
5. Only prepare as much grout as you can use within the stated working time.

Always follow the mixing instructions shown on the packaging. Adding too much water may weaken the grout or affect its finished colour.

How to Apply Heat Resistant Tile Grout

1. Make sure the appliance and tiled surface are completely cold.
2. Apply the mixed grout across the joints with a suitable grouting float.
3. Work diagonally across the tiles to press the grout firmly into every joint.
4. Fill each joint evenly and remove large amounts of surplus grout.
5. Leave the grout for approximately 30 minutes.
6. Wipe the tile faces carefully with a clean, damp cloth or sponge.
7. Rinse the cloth or sponge regularly to avoid spreading grout residue.
8. Finally, allow the grout to cure before exposing the area to heat.

Cleaning the Tiles

Remove excess grout after approximately 30 minutes with a clean, damp cloth or sponge. Do not allow large amounts of grout to dry on the tile faces because removal may become more difficult.

Take extra care when working with porous, textured or natural tiles. If you are unsure about compatibility, test the grout on a small hidden area before starting the full installation.
